About Ciaran

Ciaran graduated from Cluain Mhuire Campus, GMIT, Galway in 2010 having completed a Degree in Art and Design and a Higher Diploma in Fine Art, specialising in Painting. He has had several group and solo ehibitions.

In his own words:

"My subject matter is in a sense, diverse - with one common element, in that there are no people in any of my paintings. The reason for this is that I am interested in exploring the idea of the ephemeral and also the idea of "timelessness". I work mostly from my own photographs and tend to portray the mundane or forgotten aspects of the world around us.

The hazy nature of the images may sometimes mean it is difficult to pin a time of day, or even an era on the scenes. I wish to present a scene to the viewer. A moment in time, using the language of paint. I hope the viewer can place their own meaning, their own story to it."
